Dermalogica PreCleanse

Disclaimer:  These products were sent to me from iFabbo for purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I almost always precleanse my face before washing.  It helps to break up and remove any makeup, dirt, oil, and debris from the day that my cleanser alone can't do.  It also preps my skin so my cleanser can go in and do what it needs to do.

I have mentioned before how much I love cleaning oils for this exact purpose.  I have been using them for a while now and find them so easy to use and, along with my regular cleanser, really gives me a deep down clean.

I recently received two products from Dermalogica that each one alone acts as the first step of what Dermoalogica calls the "double cleanse regime."  The Dermalogica precleanse set contains both the precleanse and precleanse wipes.

The precleanse is described as a "deep-cleansing oil that melts away layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make-up, pollutants and products that build up on skin, allowing your cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results."

You apply it to dry skin, then wet your hands and start working in the oil, creating a milky emulsion that rinses makeup and debris and so forth from your skin.  Like most cleansing oils, I personally apply before going into the shower at night then while in the shower I use my wet hands to work into my face then rinse before washing with my regular cleanser.

I have tried a number of different oils in the past, both high end and drugstore.  This is probably one of the better ones I have used.  It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and rinses really well with no residue. I would definitely purchase when I am done with the trial size I received.

The precleanse wipes are just a travel friendly form of the precleanse in a convenient wipe form.  You follow a similar method, applying to a dry skin and then rinsing before washing with your regular cleanser.

I should first start by saying that I do not typically like cleansing wipes.  I usually keep a certain brand on standby for emergencies, but I don't really like using a wipe nor do I find them that effective in general.  With that said, these were no exception to that.  I followed the instructions and even tried to wet the wipe slightly to create that milky emulsion, and they just did nothing for me.  Like most wipes, they can be convenient while traveling or to throw in your gym bag, but I don't feel the results are anything compared to a cleansing oil.  While good in a pinch if I have no other options, I would not consider my skin "precleansed" using these.

The precleanse oil was a huge win for me.  I have been raving about the Julep Bare Skin oil for some time, and I almost want to say Dermalogica's oil is even better than Juleps.  The wipes on the other hand, are just not my thing.  Not because of the formula but just because I don't like cleansing wipes in general and these did nothing to change that. The oil is definitely something to check out!

Wednesday Wishlist

(clockwise from top left)

Mineral Powder Blush in Rose, Jouer Cosmetics - I just recently saw this blush being used in a video on Youtube and it looked so beautiful and subtle. I also really like Jouer Cosmetics.

Lucca Drive Candace, Kate Spade - I spotted this bag quite a few times online and never paid it much attention.  I was then in Nordstrom last week and saw it in person and fell in love with it in sprout green.

À la rose Eau de ParfumMaison Francis Kurkdjian - I have been dreaming of this scent since first smelling it back in February.  Its a bit pricey so it would definitely be a splurge if I were to ever purchase.

Privacy Clutch in Limited Edition Rose Gold, TRUFFLE - I love TRUFFLE pouches and clutches.  I have several of the transparent ones, but I think this would be great for throwing in my work bag to hold some essentials when running out to lunch or just on a night out.

Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Night Cap Overnight Perfector, Living Proof - I have heard some pretty great things about this overnight hair mask.

Resurfacing Mask, Tata Harper - I have seen and heard about this mask EVERYWHERE and so eager to give it a try.  I am kind of cheating here because I just ordered it this morning with the Sephora VIB ROUGE sale.

Esqido Mink Lashes

Disclaimer: Product received from brand for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Lashes are not something I normally incorporate into my regular beauty routine. I've tried lashes in the past, but always felt they looked too artificial. When I was contacted my Esqido Mink Lashes I thought I would give them a try.

The nice folks at Esqido were kind enough to send me two styles of lashes; Little Black Lash  and Unforgettable.

Little Black Lash is the lightest of the Esqido collection. The strands are spaced out across the band for a natural look.  Individual lashes range from 6-10mm long.

Unforgettable lashes features a gradient of increasing length and thickness across the lash band, resulting in a subtle winged out effect. Individual lashes range from 6-10mm long.

Esqido mink lashes are handcrafted from the finest responsibly sourced mink fur. The fur is collected from the natural shedding/molting cycles of the mink animal, which are then sterilized to ensure that they are hypoallergenic and suitable for wear.

Unlike traditional synthetic lashes that only last about 4 uses, Esqido mink lashes can be worn up to 25 times.  Esqido lashes also hold a natural curl and have a soft cotton band making them lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Esqido Lashes come beautifully packaged in reusable white boxes with a magnetic close so you can easily store them between use.  They were pretty easy to apply (I used DUO Eyelash Adhesive) and were pretty comfortable throughout the day.  I had even forgotten that I was wearing them.

I have pretty decent lashes to begin with but these made my lashes so much fuller and longer.  They also looked really natural.  I have used one pair about 3 times and they still look almost brand new

Esquido lashes retail between $39.99 and $49.99.  While they are pricier than other brands, the fact that they can be worn about 25 times, makes the price worth it.

Esqido Mink Lashes comes in 9 different styles ranging in moderate to intense volume and can be purchased on their website.

    March Favorites

Disclaimer: Disclaimer:  Products marked with an asterisk (*) were received as sample for the purpose of review. All other products were purchased by me with my own funds.  All opinions expressed are my own
It has been ages since my last favorites post.  I took a little blogging break over the holidays and then again trying to dig out of the winter we have had here in New England.  Even though I haven't posted much, I've still been busy trying new things (and instagramming them) so I have a bunch of products that I have been really loving lately.

Bare Face Cleansing Oil, Julep - I really like using a cleansing oil to remove my make-up before washing my face.  I have used many different brands, however Julep is my favorite.  It takes everything off without leaving a residue.

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream - This has been a savior to me all winter long.  Its a all purpose cream that I have been using on my cuticles, dry spots and even as an eye cream.  It was also the only product that healed my severely dry lips a few months back.  My lips were so dry, painful and cracked and nothing I used helped until discovering this likttle magical jar.

Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream, Fresh - My under eyes had been a little dry and my concealer just wasn't sitting well and this really changed that.  This absorbs so well into my skin and smells just like cucumbers.

Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment, La Roche-Posay - I need to use a benzoyl peroxide treatment to keep my skin clear.  I like this because it contains 5.5% benzoyl peroxide yet feels really nice on the skin and doesn't dry me out.

Lait-Creme Concentre, Embryolisse - This moisturizer works so well on my skin.  It is a little thicker than other moisturizers that I have used, but it absorbs well into my skin and doesn't clog my pores.  It has also healed any dry spots that I had over the winter.

VINYLUX Top Coat, CND Cosmetics - I haven't been getting the VINYLUX Weekly Manicures but when my manicurist started using the VINYLUX topcoat on my regular nail polish my manicure stayed for almost a full week with no chips.  I started using it at home as my goto topcoat as it really seals my color in.

Rose De Chloe Eau de Toilette Spray, Chloe - I have been obsessed with all things rose lately.   I really wanted a rose scent perfume and ended up ordering this from Sephora.com without even smelling it. Its very fresh and light and smells so beautiful.

Invisiblur Perfecting Shield, Murad* - I received this as a PR sample from Murad and have been using it every day.  I love that it treats, primes and provide SPF 30 all in one.
Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light, Hourglass - I had been a little hesitant about Ambient lighting powders because I thought they were a little too shimmery at first.  I have been using Dim Light as my setting powder and love the finish.  Everything just looks air brushed.

Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipcolor in Mesmerizing Magenta, Maybelline - I am obsessed with matte lip colors lately and this is the perfect matte magenta.  Its bright and vibrant but not too much for day time.

MAQUICOMPLET Complete Coverage Concealer, Lancome - This has become my new favorite concealer.  Its so creamy and gives amazing coverage.

Perfect Hair Day (PhD) 5-in-1 Styling Treatment, Living Proof* - I received this from the brand and reviewed it last month.  I love that it gives me 5 products in one and helps my hair style last through my next shampoo.

Lip Color Shine in Bare, Tom Ford - This color is just so easy.  I haven't taken it out of my purse since buying it.  Its one of those colors that you can just apply with no fuss and just a little color to your lips.  Its the quintessential "my lips but better" color.

    Instagram Photo-A-Day Challenge

Instagram is my absolute favorite social media site.  I could spending hours looking through and double tapping all the gorgeous photos people post.  Some of my favorite photos are of beauty products and make-up and just everyday pretty things.  I find I discover a lot of different products that way.  Its no wonder my Instagram has become almost a photo journal of my shopping finds.

I started doing photo-a-day challenges shortly after joining Instagram and love following along with everyone throughout the month.  Its just a great way to stay active and connect on Instagram and find new things to share through your photos.  As it has become harder and harder for me to find a beauty product/make-up themed challenge, I decided to create my own.  Won't you come on over and join me?!?!

If you never did a photo-a-day challenge before, the rules are pretty simple; there really are no rules.  There is a different challenge prompt each day for you to interrupt as you wish, snap your pic and tag it with #tesoribelleblog.  The hashtag helps other participants follow along and enjoy your photos.  And if you miss a day, it's not big deal! Catch up with multiple photos or skip a prompt all together.

So here are this month prompts!  To get started, snap/save a pic of the image below and tag it on Instagram #tesoribelleblog then start with prompt #1 on April 1st.

I hope you join in on the fun!  I can't wait to see everyone's photos.

    Perfect Hair Day

Disclaimer: Product received from brand for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.
I am not one to fuss too much with my hair.  I don't like to use a ton of products so when Living Proof sent me one styling treatment that replaces 5 styling treatments in just one bottle, I didn't hesitate to give it a go.

Living Proof's Perfect Hair Day (PhD) 5-in-1 Styling Treatment is said to provide volume, smoothness, conditioning, strength and polish all in one step. It is oil free and silcom free, and contains Living Proof’s award winning, patented molecules: OFPMA to weightlessly smooth, add shine, condition, and soften hair, and PBAE to create revivable, long-lasting volume and body with manageability. This powerful formula provides heat protection, UV protection, and static control.

I have been using this product every time I wash my hair.  It has replaced my oil, my frizz cream, and any other product I had been applying to my hair.  I use just about a dime size and rub it through my wet hair.  Living Proof suggests you blow dry, however, I have both air dried and blown dry and loved the results either way.  My hair is soft, silky and the style lasts through my next shampoo. When I blow dry, my hair looks and feels just like I stepped out of the salon. Its big and bouncing and I'm often asked if I just got my hair done. The only downside of this product is that I do find it a tad bit difficult to get out of the bottle, but the results are so worth it!

Living Proof Perfect Day (PhD) 5-in-1 Styling Treatment retails for $26 for a 4 oz bottle.

    Sephora/Ulta/Target Haul

Disclaimer: All items mentioned were purchased by me with my own funds.  All opinions expressed are me own.

I made a few purchases this past week.  There were a few things that I needed from Sephora,  so I placed an order, then forgot a few things so I placed another order, then I picked up a few things from Ulta and Target this weekend.  Some of these items were repurchases while some were new to try.

I placed an order last week on Sephora.com, then realized that I forgot a couple things that I wanted so I placed another order that same day.  As a VIB Rouge member I get free 2 day shipping anyway, so I didn't feel too too bad placing a second order.

Total Moisture Facial Cream, Benefit Cosmetics - This is a repurchased.  I'm just about finished with a jar of this so I needed to pick up a new one.  I love this moisturizer.  It hydrates my skin without breaking it out.  I also really love the way it smells.

Maracuja Neck Treatment, Tarte - I have wanted a cream specifically formulated for the neck. I figured it was time to incorporate one into my daily routine to prevent signs of aging. This was reasonably priced and got some decent reviews.

Modernist Eyeshadow Palette in Monochrome, Hourglass - I ordered this as a pre-release for Sephora VIB Rouge Members.  These are just so beautiful that I just couldn't pass it up. (I forget to include an image of the palette open, but you can view one here on my Instagram)

Contoured Eyelash Comb, Sephora Collection - I prefer a metal comb over a plastic one to comb out my lashes after applying mascara.  I was kind of intrigued by this contoured one so I thought I would pick it up to try.

GRANDIOSE Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara, Lancome - I love this mascara.  I first purchased it shortly after it first came out.  It adds volume and length while fanning out your lashes.  It makes lashes look incredible.

Art Stick in Electric Pink, Bobbi Brown - I loved this color when I first spotted it.  I was ordering from Sephora anyway so I figured I would give it a try.  I love Bobbi Brown and I love lip pencils/sticks so I am eager to give this a go.

I stopped into Ulta specifically to pick up the IT Cosmetics  Your Skim But Better CC Cream. I am almost out of my previous tube and I really love the finish and coverage this CC Cream gives me.   I have been using this every day, whether I am wearing a full face of make-up or just putting a little something on my face.  This is so easy yet makes my skin look amazing.

ColorStay Concealer, Revlon - This is my everyday concealer so I picked up another tube.  It is nice and creamy and gives me really great coverage.

Fiji Nail Color, Essie - I love love love this color.  This is just a perfect everyday milky pink.  I wear it all year long.

After picking up the Revlon concealer at Ulta, I was watching a YouTube video review of the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and decided to pick it up at Target.  Swatching this, I think I may like this formula even better then Revlon, so I look forward to trying this out this week.

Acai Clarifying Exfoliating Toner, Carol's Daughter - I have been wanting to try the PIXI Glow Tonic and spotted this at Target for a few dollars cheaper.  I am excited to try this.

Double Breasted Jacket Nail Color, Essie - I like that this is a bright pink without being neon or too too bright.  This is going to be so pretty in the Spring.

Freeze Hold Aerosol Hair Spray, TRESemme - This is my go to hairspray so I always like to keep an extra can on hand.
