The Center Part

I can't wear a center part.  My forehead is just too small of it.  My sister and I always tease each other about our foreheads; she has a five-head and I have a three-head.  Its no Teresa Giudice hairline, but it makes a center part look very awkward on me.  I've had a really bad case of center part envy lately,  so I put together a compilation of some my faves.

September Favorites

Disclaimer: Murad Intensive-C Radiance Pell sent to me as part of their brand ambassador program.  All other products mentioned were purchased by me using my own funds.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I feel like I have been obsessed with skincare and lipstick lately and September has been no different.

ColorStay Concealer, Revlon - I bought this because I finished up a tube of Nars creamy concealer and was looking for a less expensive alternative.  After using this, I think I may like it better.  However, I do need to let it sit on my skin for a minute or two before blending.

Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara, Maybelline – I still use a brow pencil, but have been using this to set my brows and apply a touch more color.

Acne Spot Treatment, Murad – My skin has been a mess lately and I have been really loving this to spot treat blemishes.  I rub it on at night and in the morning I can see a noticeable difference.

Intensive-C Radiance Peel, Murad – This is a great brightening peel.  Its great for my hyperpigmentation but it also just makes my skin feel better and smoother.

Lippy Moisture Matte Lipsticks in Macbeth and Loved Up, Butter London – I have been using nothing but matte lipstick lately.  I have been obsessed with them.  When I first heard that Butter London was coming out with matte lipstick I hunted them down until I found them in these two colors.  They are gorgeous.

Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb and Rosewater, Mario Badescu – I actually bought this a while back and didn’t start using it until recently.  It feels amazing and is a great little treat for my skin.  I actually prefer this to Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir and it is a fraction of the price.

Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask, The Body Shop – This mask has become a must have for me.  It really helps draw out any impurities in my skin and dries out any gross stuff.

Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF50+, It Cosmetics – I like to use a BB or CC Cream on the weekends when I don’t want to put on a full face of make-up.  It’s easy; I can apply it with my fingers and just kind of minimizes my imperfections.  This makes my skin look so good and glowy that I have been using it daily in place of a foundation.

The POREfessional, Benefit Cosmetics – This is an old favorite that I have recently rediscovered.  There really is no comparison for a pore minimizing primer.

Wednesday Wish List

Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne, Jo Malone - I smelled this at Nordstrom last week and it smells like the beach.  I think it may be a newer scent and I am bummed I missed it over the summer.  I imagine the candle of this scent burning in a summer house on the cape with all the curtain blowing from the ocean breeze.

Classic Slip-Ons in Perforated Leather, Vans - I am loving the slip-on sneaker trend right now.  Its the lazy girl in me that wants to be able to just slip on my shoes and go.  Who needs laces anyway?!?  And Vans remind me of being a teenager in the late 90s with that thick rubber sole.  I need these in my life.

Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes, Benefit Cosmetics - Benefit does the best holiday gift sets and this will definitely be on the top of my holiday wish list.  I love their boxed blushes so this is right up my alley.

Split End Sealer, Oribe - I love everything I have tried from Oribe.  Its a little pricy but it works amazingly and always smells great.  I am curious to try this sealer to repair split ends and reduce breakage.

Retinol Firming & Lifting Serum, Algenist - I am in the market for a new retinol and this one seems to have the best reviews on Sephora.com.  I also checked it out at the Space.nk boutique inside Bloomingdales the other day and it felt really good on my skin.

Moto Knit Jacket, Gap - I really want a navy jacket and love the the moto style.  I also like that this is a knit making it soft and casual.

Crema da Mano Hand Cream in Cleopatra, Tocca Beauty - I think I mentioned last week that I am obsessed with this scent.  I know want everything this fragrance comes in.

Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil

Disclaimer: Product received from brand for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I have used tea tree oil for years.  Its a great spot treatment for blemishes as well an antimicrobial on scrapes and small cuts.  It is a staple in my medicine cabinet.

I was recently set a (HUGE) bottle of 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil from Apothecary Extracts.  I was so excited because first of all the bottle is gigantic and apparently there are so many other uses for Tea Tree Oil that I had never knew.

Some say tea tree oil is a miracle ingredient.  The Australian Aborigines' were said to use 'healing lakes' that were in fact lagoons filled with tea tree leaves.  The leave would naturally fall into the lakes from the nearby trees, decaying and fortified the water with their healing properties over time.  Today, this 'healing' oil is used in skin care, first aid, household cleaning, hair care, aromatherapy, feminine care, chronic illnesses and dental care. Tea Tree Oil has the "big three" antimicrobial properties.  It acts as an anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial.

I love to use tea tree oil as a regular spot treatment, applying it to my blemishes morning and night.  I have used many brands in the past, but I am finding Apothocary Extracts to be of the most effective because it is 100% pure, unlike some of the other brands out there.  And not only is it 100% pure, but the bottle is so much bigger than other brands I have used.

Apothecary Extracts can be purchased exclusively through Amazon for $24.99.  Included with each purchase is a free e-book on 50+ ways to use tea tree oil.  Apothecary Extracts is generously offered a free bottle to one of my readers.  Enter using the Rafflecopter below*.

Apothecary Extracts was founded in 2013 to give consumers safe and pure essential oils. Some vendors dilute their essential oils, or use unsafe extraction processes which contaminate the final product. Apothecary Extracts only carry essential oils that they are 100% confident represent the best quality and potency available.

Wednesday Wants

I am feeling a bit daring today and mixing things up.  I'm moving Sunday Lusts to Wednesday for this week.  I know; living life dangerously, right?!?

Alexis Bittar Liquid Gold Compact Mirror, Sephora Collection - How gorgeous is this mirror?  This is just the first item released from the Alexia Bittar for Sephora collection.  I'm pretty sure the entire collection is going to be on the top of my holiday wish list!

Cleopatra Eau De Parfum, Tocca Beauty - I have loved Tocca's Stella for years now but I have recently discovered Cleopatra and am not obsessed. With notes of grapefruit and cucumber, I am sold!

2015 Simplified Planner, Emily Ley - When it comes to calendars, I am a pen and paper girl. I have been using the Day Designer by Whitney English all year and can't imagine life without it.  While I love the planner so much, I find myself not fully utilizing many of the features, so next year I'm pretty certain the Simplified Planner will be on my desk.

Small Sac De Jour, Saint Laurent - I love love love this bag.  I may have expressed my love for it before but I need to reiterate. And after watching Manzod with Children Sunday Night and drooling over Lauren's red Celine Luggage tote, I really want a red bag.  I obviously wouldn't object the the Celine tote either.

Amazon Necklace, Coordinates Collection - I really love these necklaces.  They would be a fantastic gift for someone and I just think they would be super cute with the coordinates of your favorite place or the house you grew up in.

iPhone 6 plus, Apple - Even though my iPhone 5S is no more than 6 months old, I am counting down the days until I can get the 6 plus.  Most of my talk time is in the car on bluetooth so the bigger size would be ideal for everything else . . . you know the important stuff like iMessage and instagram and email and 2048.

Firmoo Prescription Glasses

Disclaimer: Product received from Firmoo for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I love online shopping.  Its so easy and you just can buy just about anything.  I especially love the ease and find myself shopping more and more online.  Don't get me wrong, I still love a good trip to the mall, but online I can shop anytime I want and search for all the best bargains.  It's no wonder that after my last trip to the eye doctor, I opted to find glasses online.

I had just purchased two pairs of glasses from another online retailer, when I was contacted by Firmoo to review a pair from their collection.  Since I wear glasses everyday, I wasn't going to pass up an extra pair.

Ordering was super easy.  In fact, the only difficult part was narrowing down what pair to choose from the hundreds (maybe thousands?) of pairs offered.  I finally choose a pair of oversized black frames.  Once selected, all I had to do is enter my prescription information and voila!  I had my glasses in just about 10 days.

These particular frames are a bit larger than I was used to, but since I have been wearing them they have become my favorite pair.  Because the lens is large it really covers my entire line of vision and the style is very on trend.  They are also quite sturdy and well made.

Firmo.com offers prescription glasses at affordable prices.  The price listed includes standard 1.50 single vision lens (upgraded lens including bifocal or progressive available for an additional fee).  All glasses include case, cleaning cloth and screwdriver.

Visit firmoo.com to purchase your glasses.
