March GlossyBox

Disclaimer: This service was purchased by me with my own funds.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I have had a love hate relationship with Glossybox for a while.  I first subscribed with their second US box back in June of 2012 (I think) and since then I've unsubscribed and resubscribed a number of times over the course of the last 21 months. One of my biggest reasons for having unsubscribed was mainly because  I wasn't really using a lot of the products I was receiving so I just couldn't justify the $21/month expense.

Lately, I have been quite happy with Glossybox.  The last few boxes have been amazing; their shipping has been on schedule, and the products have been relevant.  This month's box was probably one of my favorite subscription boxes ever.  I was so excited with the products that were included this month that I knew I just had to share!

This month's GlossyBox include 6 products:

Alex and Ani Scent 7 Soap Bar
Alterna Haircare BAMBOO Volume Plumping Strand Expand
Etre Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel
Nails Inc Brooke Street Nail Polish
Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask
Alex and Ani Charm Bangle

Alex and Ani Scent 7 Soap Bar  -  Created with shea butter and coconut oil, Scent 7 Soap Bar effectively nurtures the skin, increasing hydration and thoroughly cleansing the body.  Invigorate your senses and lift your spirit with each use.

My Glossybox included a full size bar (7 oz) that retails for $14.

Alterna Haircare BAMBOO Volume Plumping Strand Expand - A thickening lotion that strengthens, moisturizes, and add volume to the hair from root to tip.  Hair appears full-bodied and never weighed down.
Full Size product retails for $22.00 for 4 fl. oz.  I received a .85 fl oz sample, which is a $4.68 value.

Etre Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel - A gentle and moisturizing exfoliator for the lip area.  It gently removes dead cells and refines the surface skin.  Once a week, or as needed, massage a small amount of Liplift Exfoliator on the lip area with gentle circular motions.  After a minute, remove with a dampened cotton pad.

I received a full size product (0.5 fl. oz) that retails for $17.80.

Nails Inc Brooke Street Nail Polish - Looking forward to spring?  Skip ahead to warmed times by wearing this bright, summery coral.  Nails inc polishes are professionally formulated for a long lasting, super glossy, flawless finish.

Full Size product retails for $9.50 for 0.33 oz.  I received a 0.13 fl oz sample, which is a $3.74 value.

Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask - The first Sisley mask enriched with anti-aging active ingredients. A skincare mask rich in trace elements, vitamins and plant extracts, specially formulated to act instantly on the signing of aging and fatigue to rejuvenate skin and restore vitality.

Full Size product retails for $158.00 for 2.1 oz.  I received a 0.38 oz sample, which is a $28.59 value.

Alex and Ani Swan Charm Bangle - A majestic creature that embodies grace and beauty, a swan is a powerful symbol of love.  Swans epitomize affectionate connection as they typically create lasting bonds and mate for life.  Embrace the devoted energy of the migratory being with the Swan Charm as an encouragement to glide through life with an open heart.

This bracelet retails for $28.

Given the value of each item and the product sizes received, this box is a $96.81 value.  This is huge value, especially since I plan to use just about every item in the box, except probably the soap.  Glossybox really stepped it up with this box!

InstaUpdate

Like a lot of people, I am slightly addicted to Instagram.  It is probably my most used form of social media.  Even when I am not blogging, I am posting on instagram daily.  Whether it is the latest beauty product I am enjoying, or something that strikes my interest, I am posting it to instagram.

Here are some of the photos that I have posted recently. And, if you aren't already following me, you can do so HERE.

Sunday Lusts

Sunday Lusts 3.16.2014

1. "Rabbit" iPad Air Notebook Case, Marc by Marc Jacobs - I have been searching for a cute case for my iPad Air and have not been able to find too many.  This case from Marc Jacobs is super cute.

2. "Skull" Ballet Flats, Alexander McQueen - Alexander McQueen does skulls better than anyone else.  I love the contrast of the feminine ballet flat with the skull.

3. Cheek Pop in Plum Pop, Clinique - I swatched these blushes at Ulta one day and restrained myself from buying one because I have so many blushes already. These are gorgeous and so super pigmented!

4. Caudalie Vinoperfect Enzymatic Peel Mask - I have mentioned my love for Caudalie many times on the past.  I came across this while scouring birchbox.com and am curious to try it out.

5. Leather Flap Clutch, Gap - A girl could never have too many handbags and that goes for clutches as well.  I am in love with this clutch for spring.

6. Lace Blazer, Loft - Blazers are great to had a little polish to a casual look.

7. Embossed Python iPhone Case, Graphic Image - I already have an embossed python case form Graphic Image in orange and have been using it non stop since I got it a couple months ago.  It holds us very well and is so cute.  I love that you can get them personalized.  White is probably my favorite color and the magenta is just so gorgeous!

Look Up: The Fifth Wall

Long are the days of stark white ceilings.  Today home decorators are looking up to create an accent wall, focusing on the ceiling to bring a dramatic masterpiece to any room.  Whether it is a simple splash of color, tin tiles, painted patterns, wood paneling or multiple tray inserts, today's ceiling has come a long way from the popcorn stucco of mid 20th century.

February Favorites

Disclaimer:  All products mentioned in this post were purchased by me with my own funds unless otherwise noted.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Its March!  I didn't think it was ever going to get here.  I love the month of March.  It means Spring is right around the corner.  And now that March is here, its time for February Favorites! I have been trying out a lot of different skin care products lately which reflect in my favorites.  I have found a couple different products that are sure to become holy grail.

February Favorites
SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment, GLAMGLOW - GLAMGLOW has become a cult favorite among beauty enthusiasts lately.  I have heard so much about it that I needed to try it and see for myself what all the hype was about. I ended up picking up the gift set that Sephora had over the holidays that contained both SUPERMUD and YOUTHMUD.  My skin had multiple breakouts at the time.  I started using this once or twice a week and my skin has never looked better!  I haven't had one single breakout since the end of January.  It is AMAZING!  I just recently used YOUTHMUD and I am pretty sure that is going to be in an upcoming favorites.

Proactiv+ 3 Piece System - I have been using Proactiv off and on for about 12 years now.  It is really the only system that I have found that works for me.  I loved the original system but it can be a bit drying.  The Proactiv+ system is a bit more pricey but it is a lot more gentle on the skin with the same results.  The plus system is actually quite hydrating for an acne product.

Gloss Volupte in #15 Grenade Pepite, Yves Saint Laurent - I probably have mentioned at least 164 times how much I LOVE YSL lip products.  They are expensive so they are a splurge but the packaging is absolutely gorgeous, the pigmentation is amazing and the formula is just perfect.  I have been wearing this gloss almost non-stop since I bought it last month.

Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat, Hourglass - I posted about this blush last month.  Its gives great color and includes ambient lightening powder swirled into the color, so I get a great glow to my cheeks.

Konjac Cleansig Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal, Boscia - I picked this up when my Clarisonic stopped working and have been really enjoying it.  It really lathers up your face wash so you don't need as much. And it has charcoal so it helps pull out impurities.

Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist, c. Booth - I also reviewed this product last month.  I have been using it on the ends of my hair after using my flat iron and this keeps them soft and smooth.

Lovemarc Matte Lip Gel in 140 Gossip, Marc Jacobs Beauty - I love really love this color. It is a fuchsia, which is very on trend, yet it isn't too bright for day wear.  I also really like matte lip sticks and this one isn't at all drying like others.

Sunday Lusts

Sunday Lusts 3.9.2014
1. Foreo LUNA For Combination Skin - My Clarisonic stopped working last month.  While I have not gotten around to replacing it yet, I keep hearing great things about the Foreo LUNA sonic brush.  I like that it is a bit more portable than the Clarisonic and does not require any replacement brush heads.

2. Caudalie Vine Body Butter - I have not met a Caudalie product that I haven't like.  Everything smells so amazing and works so well that I can just imagine how amazing this will smell and feel on the skin.

3. Radiance Lift Foundation, Eve Lom - I was super excited to hear that Eve Lom was launching a line of cosmetics.  I have used a few different products in the skin care line and absolutely adore the brand, so I am super excited about this launch and am eager to try the foundation.

4. Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow in Rose Dentelle, Givenchy - I love cream shadows.  I haven't used anything else for months.  This color is a fantastic neutral for all over eye color.

5. Classic Q Natasha Crossbody Flap Bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs - I am heading to Savannah, Georgia next week for St. Patrick's Day and have been stocking my wardrobe with everything green.  One thing I don't have is a great cross body and this mint color is so on trend for the Spring (and perfect for St. Paddy's Day!)

c.Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist

Disclaimer:  Product received as part of Glossybox subscription service.  Service was purchased by me with my own funds.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I don't use too many products on my hair.  When I wash and style my hair, I'll use hairspray and maybe pomade/styling cream if I remember it, but other than that, I am kind of fuss free when it comes to my hair.  I recently chopped my hair off . . . and when I say chopped, it went from being down my back to slightly below my shoulders . . . not too short for some people but for someone that has had long hair pretty much all of my life, it was life changing.

It is honestly like having a new head of hair, and with it, I have kind of had to relearn how to style it on a regularly basis.  For the first time in EVER, I have ditched my wide curling iron and have been flat ironing my hair.  It is a concept very foreign to me, so it has required a few new products in my hair care lineup; one being a dry oil.

Since flat ironing my hair for the past couple of weeks, I've been super paranoid about frying the ends of my hair.  I received the c.Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist in a GlossyBox months ago and threw it in a drawer wanting to use it, but not quite sure what to use it for.  I've pulled it out recently and have been spraying it on the ends of my hair after flat ironing.  I gather the ends together, give them one or two mists and its leaves the ends of my hair shiny, soft, smooth and smelling incredible!

c.Booth's Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist is actually not for your hair.  It is a light/weight dry oil for face and body that is said to "impart a light gladly glow for instantly touchable skin.  Infused with a gentle sweet blend of Honey and Almond, it's the ultimate aromatic indulgence for skin and the senses."

A 4 oz bottle retails for $7.99 and can be purchased directly from Freeman Beauty or wherever c.Booth products are sold.

Sunday Lusts

Sunday Lusts 3.2.14

Lash Transformation System, LASHFOOD - I actually don't really have a problem with my lashes, but I am greedy and don't think lashes could ever be too full or too long.

Floral Statement Sweatshirt, GAP - I love anything comfy and casual, yet feminine and chic, so this sweatshirt is perfect!

Gloss Volupte in 49 Terriblement Fuchsia, Yves Saint Laurent - I LOVE YSL lip products.  I recently got one of these glosses in 15 Grenade Pepite have been using it none stop.  Naturally, I want about 7 more!

'Star of Venus' Expandable Wire Bracelet, Alex and Ani - I have jumped on the Alex and Any bandwagon!  They are so affordable and I love anything you can layer up especially when layering creates even more of that jingling noise they make.

Amethyst Birthstone Expandable Wire Bracelet, Alex and Ani

Gold Tassel Key Chain, Design Darling - I actually don't currently have anything on my key ring.  It's just a plain ring with all my keys.  I love this key chain because it is gold, it has a claw I can clip to the inside of my bag and it is just so cute!

Cabana Stripe Notebook, Sugar Paper - I think I have mentioned about 100 times that I have an obsession with office supplies.  I probably have about 94 notebooks at any given time and need to make time number 95!
