24 Hours with iOS 7

I have no patience for anything.  None.  iOS 7 was released and I wanted it and I wanted it immediately.  While there is a whole slew of stuff this update can do, I'm not sharing that.  Frankly because I'm a bit of a technically challenged individual and the fact that I can manage blogger still floors me.  Anyway, I wanted to pop in and share my recent disappointment experience with this update.

iOS 7 looks great. I'm sure it does thousands of millions of fancy things, but mainly I like it because it is iOS dressed up in new duds.  The look and feel of the operating system is very different . . . and I like different.

I would LOVE iOS7 except for . . .

Thats right folks, iOS hates me.  I did nothing to it.  I tried to play nice, but it took my iMessage away in the playground and won't give it back! I have researched the sh*t out of it and am hopeless.  I am starting to think we will never be reunited and that make me . . .

While I continue to figure out what, for the love of sweet jesus, is wrong with my imessaging, I did discover a little tip that I wanted to share with anyone that may have already downloaded the update.

By default, the ability to send a SMS (text message; green) to anyone also on iOS7 is turned off and you will only be able to send an iMessage (blue). This is fine unless the person's iMessage is not working but you may never know. HOWEVER, you can turn SMS back on by going to your messaging settings and selecting "Send as SMS." You'll still send messages as iMessage if available, otherwise it will automatically send as a regular text.  I found this information HERE.

It took me about 24 hours to discover I could actually receive texts.  I was convinced that I would actually have to call and speak to people (YIKES!) and never text again.  I'm so glad that doesn't have to happen!

My iMessaging is still "waiting for activation," but until then, I don't mind iOS7 that much.

Friday Finds

Angela & Roi is an online handbag brand that combines fashion and philanthropy by color. Their bags use a Donate by Color mission, where they donate a portion of each handbag sale to a chosen non-profit health organizations based on the color of the handbag. They use minimal designs with a classic touch, and only use vegan leather when making their handbags.

If you have followed by blog for a while, you have probably caught on about my love for office supplies.  Poppin is everything I have ever wanted in office supplies.  Everything is so sleek and modern and comes in a variety of bright bold colors.  I am obsessed with everything on their website.

Society6 is an online store where artists can sell their artwork as gallery quality art prints, iPhone cases, t-shirts and other products.  Not only do they have so many fantastic pieces (I'm currently awaiting the delivery of this case) but they also have a wallpaper app on itunes, where they release a bunch of daily wallpapers for your iphone (for free!)

Orange Glad is a monthly subscription box that brings baked goods and confections to your door for just $15 a month. YUM!

I have followed Lauren's blog for a while.  She recently started a series titled "True Life: The Girl Behind the Blog" about all the things we don't blog about.  I just love the concept!
You can check out Part 1Part 2, and Part 3.

Carol is a true writer and her blog reflects that.  Her recent post about her upcoming trip to Santa Fe made me feel like I was going with her.  I also loved her post on beauty box subscriptions.

If you have not yet watched the Netflix Original Series Orange is the New Black, do it!  Do it soon!  It is rated TV-MA as it is a little raunchy, but it is SO good!  It will have you laughing and crying then laughing again in the matter of minutes.

Michael Todd True Organics KNU Anti-Aging Serum

Disclaimer: Product sent to me for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I was recently contacted by Michael Todd True Organics to review a new product that was recently added to their Knu anti-aging facial line.  Knu Anti-Aging Face Lift Serum
is a skin repair treatment that also aids in the treatment of acne, scarring, and Rosacea. The serum is 70% organic and is gluten free.

KNU serum is a concentrated anti-aging serum made from 70% organic ingredients, including healing aloe vera and anti-oxidant cranberries, green tea and seaweed combined with an advanced proprietary blend of powerful ingredients clinically shown to accelerate repair and heal the skin. It is said to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of premature skin aging while at the same time providing anti-oxidant protection against future damage.

Serums are one of those products that I always knew that I should use, but never really bothered much with.  I would receive a sample, use it until it ran out, and then would just stop using one. As I get older, I am starting to realize that the old way of caring for my skin (wash, tone and moisturize) is just not cutting it.  As I have been really into skin care lately and looking for a serum, I was thrilled to try this.

Serums are a vital step in any skin care regimen.  It is a targeted treatment of added nutrients that absorb into the deep layers of your skin that a regular moisturizer simply can't reach.  They intensify the effectiveness of your other products, like a dose of vitamins for your skin.

I apply the serum after washing, toning and applying any spot treatment, allowing each product to dry slightly between steps.  The directions call for 2-4 drop, twice daily.  I usually use just one drop in the morning and 2 drops at night, which is more than enough.  After it dries, I then proceed with my moisturizer (w/ SPF) and, in the morning, my make-up.

This has a very pleasant scent.  It contains aloe vera, cranberries and green tea, and all three are very present in the smell.  The texture is also quite nice and not sticky like other serums.  It feels very smooth and silky as I rub it into my skin and dries well without any residue.

Before using this, I had started to notice some fine lines under my eyes and around my mouth.  Since using the Knu Anti-Aging Face Lift Serum  my skin is a lot more firmer and those lines are hardly visible. My skin overall feels really nice.

This product does claim to also aid in the treatment of acne, scarring and rosacea.  I can't speak on it treating acne and rosacea as my skin had cleared up prior to using this and I don't have any rosacea.  As far as scarring, it do have some  discoloration from acne and since using this serum, I have noticed many of those spots have lightened.

Knu Anti-Aging Face Lift Serum  retails for $150 for 1.2 oz (3 months supply) on Michael Todd True Organic's website.

If an anti-aging serum is not for you, they offer a number of products for different skin types.  If you are new to the line and want to try it out, they even have different discovery kits, which contains a complete 5-piece skin care kit, TSA approved  for carry-on, for under $40.
