Guest Post from Lauren's Way

Just because the cold weather is upon us, it doesn't mean you have to lose your tan.  Today I am very excited to have a special guest post from Laurens Way, a UK beauty brand founded by Lauren Goodger, an English television personality, glamour model, beautician and singer.

Based in the UK, Laurensway.com features fake tanning products, hair products, and false eyelashes and ships worldwide.

Getting ready to glow this winter

It’s fair to say that summer is well and truly behind us, we need to shake up our skincare routines to adjust for the autumnal months. Making small and subtle changes now will help you look and feel your best in the colder seasons. Tanning is the perfect way to look glowing throughout winter.

As the gale force winds hit us and cold bites we tend to use the central heating and our skin becomes exposed to dryness and chapping. This can be easily corrected by using a good quality body and face scrub exfoliator followed by a moisturiser to fuse goodness back into your skin.

Try to exfoliate once or twice a week depending on your natural skin type; this is important for skin that has been damaged over the summer months by the sun. Buy a scrub that contains sugar this will bring out a natural glow. If you moisturise in the morning and evening especially after you’ve exfoliated and use a facial mask one night a week for added softness – then your skin is well and truly prepared for the fake tan to be applied!

A fantastic tanning product on the market, that’s not only easy to apply but looks radiant and its streak free, Lauren’s Way Self Tan. The LW tanning products have received amazing reviews across all social media channels.

Tanning Mitt

If you’re trying out fake tan for the first time, you might be a little nervous about using it, but it couldn’t be simpler to get an even glow. Start by taking a long shower and shave so the tan had a smooth and even base to be applied to then use a mitt to apply the tan in circular motions.

Make sure you read the directions on the tan bottle and wash it off, but be aware to not stain your hands. The self-tan from Lauren’s way is one of our favourites for a lovely tone and perfect glow.
Check out the Lauren’s Way website to see the additional beauty products including clip in hair extensions, lashes and sleep in rollers to perfect the ultimate desired appearance.

Friday Finds

Notes from My Closet - I found Rachel's Blog through Instagram, which seems to be where I find 90% of new to me blogs lately.  I loved the minimalistic, simple design of her bedroom in her room tour and have been reading through her blog ever since!

The Kinch Life Blog - (Another blog I found on instagram) Everything about Aubrey's blog is absolutely stunning!  She is a graphic designer and has a ton of freebie wallpapers for your iPhone and desktop!

Is it weird that I have been stalking my own sister's pinterest?  Even at my age I still look to my older sister for style advice, and her pinterest is very pinspiring.  (corny pun?? - check out her pinterest for sources of the images above)

I am sure I have mentioned the Decorista's blog a bagillion times because it is one of my absolute favorites AND her pinterest is just as amazing!

I have been sucked into the vortex of instagram!  I have been absolutely obsessed and it is quickly becoming my source for EVERYTHING! (by the way - you can follow me here)

Yours_Truly_Sandy - Sandy's instagram has makeup, comics, and just everyday pictures of her life.  She has some great product recommendations.  She also works a Sephora and was kind enough to recently offer some of her followers her friends and family coupon.  (I was lucky enough to score one - Thank you Sandy!)

aslancreampuff - I am not a crazy cat lady, I promise, but I die of cuteness overload every time I look at him.

If this is really the guy whose driveway Youtube "personality" Joey Graceffa blocked and his story is legit, kudos to him for sticking up for himself and being absolutely hilarious!  What is so complicated about not blocking someone's driveway?!?  Its illegal . . . AND RUDE!  You are my hero Nate Clark!

Resvology Age Corrective Eye Cream

Disclaimer: Product sent to me for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Eye creams are one of those products that I know I should use regularly, but don't.  I have a couple that I use off and on, but to be honest I always kind of forget about them or just find them a little tedious to apply.  Since I have yet to find an eye cream that I really love, I was excited to receive the Age Corrective Eye Cream from Resvology to try out and review.

Resvology uses 4-AR molecule that has been proven to activate over 85 key skin-related genes.  Fueling gene activity helps keep skin acting and looking younger.  Resvology then adds anti-oxidants and age-fighters to deliver visibly youthful results.

Resvology's Age Corrective Eye Cream is said to minimize crow's feet, fine lines and wrinkles, while reinforcing skin firmness and elasticity.  It also claims to deflate puffiness and brighten dark circle.  Key ingredients include "4-AR Molecule  helps reignite youthful gene expression and boosts presence of collagen and elastin in the skin. Targeted peptides reduce the depth and complexity of fine lines and deeper wrinkles; Vitamins A, E and C Ester neutralize damaging free radicals; Panthenol conditions and hydrates; Barley, Sandalwood and Olive extracts help soothe skin and renew natural moisture barrier."

The packaging of this product is very nice.  It comes in a pump bottle, which I really liked.  Most eye creams I have used in the past came in either a squeeze tube or dropper bottle, making it a little messy and difficult.  The pump makes this easy to dispense. It is also a pretty decent size at 0.5 fl oz.

The cream itself is lightweight and doesn't have any fragrance.  I gently pat one pump around my eye area in a circular motion with my ring finger, morning and night.  It applies nice, absorbs well and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes.

I have been used this for about a week and a half, so I haven't used it long enough to notice significant improvement.  I do feel like my eye area is firmer and the elasticity has improved so I will definitely continue using it.

Resvology's Age Corrective Eye Cream retails for $89 on their website.

For more information on Resvology  visit their website , or follow them on Facebook or  Twitter.

Pretty Pumpkins

While Halloween is for trick or treating and frightful decorations, pumpkins don't need to be.  These  cultivars of squash aren't just for jack o'lanterns.   You can keep your pumpkins out all autumn long. And when they are dusted in gold and glitter, they can add glamorous decor to any room.

Here are some of my picks for beautifully decorated pumpkins.

Menswear Trend: Weekender Bags

When it comes to large oversize weekender bags, I find myself wanting simple clean lines in a structured silhouette and a good quality leather.  I have scoured the ends if the internet looking for that one classic piece that I can grab for years to come as a carry-on or weekend catchall.  I recently realized that while I may have been looking at all the right stores, I have been searching the wrong departments.  That bag does exist, however it's not made for me.  It's made for a man.

I have never been a huge fan of the menswear trend. I like a good blazer just as much as the next girl, but only dressed up with florals or sequins or feminine accessories.  However, when it comes to those oversized satchels, I love the idea of a masculine tote with an otherwise feminine look.

While opting for a men's bag, color choices are limited with the majority either brown or black.  But then again, what's more chic than an all black look with a rich cognac leather bag clenched in your hand?!?!?

Here are some of my choices for a man's weekender bag.

Empties #4

It has been a few months since my last empties post and I have A LOT of products that I have used up and want to share.  I already have quite a few in my empties basket since taking these photos, so expect an Empties #5 post soon.

Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water - I received this a while ago in a either a Birchbox or Glossybox and never opened it until recently.  It is a good make-up remover.  I used this on my entire face to remove my make-up before washing.  I found it to be similar to Bioderma.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation - This has become my go to foundation since first buying it earlier this year.  It is actually the first drugstore foundation I have ever used so I was surprised to have loved this so much.

Clinque 'Take the Day Off' Makeup Remover - I picked this up at Nordstrom simply because it was at the counter and gave me a moment of nostalgia. I used to use this many many years ago.  This is a fantastic eye make-up remover.  It takes everything off without irritating sensitive eyes.

NYX Pore Filler - I have mentioned this a recent favorites post.  It works just as well as Benefit's Porefessional.  I use it just on the inside of my cheeks where I have slightly larger pores.

Caudalie Lip Conditioner - This is just a great lip balm to throw in my purse or leave in the car.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment - I know these are a cult classic, but I'm not too wild about them.  I like Fresh as a brand and enjoy some of their other products, but these balms just don't wow me.  I received this last year or the year before from Sephora as the Beauty Insider birthday gift.  I liked the smaller size and kept it in my desk at work until I used it up.  I found it to break easily, which it probably due to the size, and I didn't use it all that often.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara - I received this in the Man Repeller Limited Edition Glossy Box and it has been my go to favorite mascara ever since.  It gives both volume and length without clumping.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - This is a great drugstore pressed powder.  It keeps shine away throughout the day making my make-up last.

BeautyBlender - This might be cheating because its not necessary a product I used up, but I replaced my beautyblender leaving me with this empty package.  While I clean my blender regularly, I still like to replace them every so often.

Yes to Cucumbers On-The-Go Facial Towelettes - This was just a small 10 ct packet that I kept in my purse.  These work well.

Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser - I need to use a cleanser with Benzoyl Peroxide to keep away breakouts.  This is a good drugstore alternative to Proactiv and I find myself switching between the two.

Proactiv 3-Step System - I have used Proactiv off and on for well over 12 years.  I find when I don't use it for a period of time, my skin will be clear for a while, then break out horribly  causing me to go back to it.

Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes - I don't use wipes all that often anymore as I do prefer a cleansing water, but these are great.  The coconut water acts as a great toner and also works well on acne prone skin.

Up & Up Acetone Nail Polish Remover - I like to use a pure acetone polish remover.  It takes polish off easily and works well for clean-ups.

Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel - I have mentioned in a previous post that this my go to shave gel.  I will either use Aveeno or the store brand.  It really goes slow the hair growth causes you to have to shave less.

Victoria's SecretVS Fantasies Daily Body Wash in Such A Flirt - I don't normally go into VS for bath & body products but everything smell so good!  These body washes smell great, clean well, and don't leave any residue on my skin.  I got a few products on sale (5 or 6 for something) which was a great bargain.

Soap & Glory Clean on Me Body Wash - I love love love the original S&G scent.  I bought this to go away with over the summer.  It wasn't my first time buying it.  I love the smell and the texture.  Its a little creamier than a regular wash.

Harvey Prince Eau Flirt - I usually have to try a perfume on and let it sit on my skin before buying it.  I bought this completely unaware of how it smelled.  It contains notes of lavender and pumpkin, which sounds kind of gross, however the scent has been meticulously calibrated to turn up the heat. Pumpkin and lavender have been clinically proven to spur passionate reactions in men, hence the name Flirt.  I bought it because I was intrigued and curious about it.  It actually smells quite pleasant.  It is a very warm scent.

Evian Mineral Water Spray - I buy these every summer and hardly ever use them.  I have started to use them up to dampen my beautyblender.  The beautyblender works best when you wet it beforehand and these little bottles are great to dampen the sponge rather then running to the sink.

Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes - I received these in a birchbox over the summer.  They were great to refresh your feet after being in flip flops all day.  I was going to order the full size when I found them in TJ Maxx for $3!  Now that its fall and the flip flops are put away, I am not sure if I will use them much now but do have a full packet waiting for next summer.

TRESemme Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray - I have mentioned this before, TRESemme is my favorite hair spray.  I usually buy the 5, which is the strongest hold, but bought the 4 because it was all they had at the store.  It actually worked just as well.

Miss Jessie's Crème De La Curl Cleansing Creme and Crème De La Creme Daily Conditioner - I have mentioned Miss Jessie's before as well.  This was a repurchase.  While I don't have curly hair, this sulfate free shampoo tames the frizz better than any other product I have tried.  It also smells AMAZING, which is why I bought it in the first place.

Batiste Dry Shampoo, Paisley - I never used the Paisley Dry Shampoo before but it was nice.  It is a softer smell than the other Batisite dry shampoo's I have used.  I liked it allot.

L'Occitane Aromachologie Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner - I am that person that finds joy and taking the sample size products from a hotel.  While in DC last summer, I smuggled these in my suitcase every night so they would leave more.  I have never used L'Occitane Shampoo or Conditioner.  This was okay.  The conditioner was not as thick as I like, but it was fine enough to take smaller size products while traveling.

L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm - I really wanted to love this.  It claims to erase a year of damage in one use.  That didn't happen.  In fact, this was nothing more than an average conditioner for me.

Completely Bare Hypo-Allergenic Wax Strips - I have used a lot of different wax strips.  These are pretty good.  As you can see, I purchase twice and just bought again over the weekend.  These include in three different sizes; small strips for your upper lips, medium size squares and larger strips.  I prefer the larger strips and then cut them to size (although I do use all of them).  While they are for face, bikini and body, but I just use them on my face.

Sally Hansen Extra Strength Creme Bleach - I have used this since high school to bleach between waxing.

Up & Up Cotton Ovals - I don't prefer one brand over another of cotton rounds, but I do prefer rounds to cotton balls to remove nail polish, and to apply cleansing water and toner.

(I lost the photos of the next two products.  I searched my laptop and have no idea where they went)

Kleenex Hand Towels (Not Pictured) - These are great to dry your face after washing.  If you are not grabbing a clean towel every night you wash, you are just spread germs onto your face.  I like these because you use a new clean towel every time.

Wet Ones Wipes, Sensitive (Not Pictured) - I have mentioned these in my last favorites post, but will stay it again, Wet Ones have become a make-up drawer staple for me.  I use them to clean make-up off my hands, wipe down make-up bottles, spot clean brushes and my beauty blender, and clean my mascara wand.  I buy the sensitive ones because I am using them on cosmetics, they need to be hypo-allergenic, alcohol and fragrance free.

Perlier Volcanic Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub

Disclaimer: Product sent to me for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I had just finished a tub Soap & Glory's Flake Away when I was sent Perlier's Volcanic Thermo Spa Scrub to review.  I had recently tried Perlier's Lemon Crackling Body Water so I was familiar with the brand and was excited to give this a try.

Perlier's Volcanic Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub is made in Italy and formulated with key ingredients rich in mineral salts. The minerals are of different particle size of complex key ingredients for dual rejuvenating and smoothing beauty action.  It also contains water from the hot spring concession located in the municipality of Abana Terme (Padua)

As we get older exfoliation becomes very important.  As you age skin turnover slows down and dead skin cells can give you a dull complexion.  This product is said to helps optimize skin's elasticity for a more youthful appearance and combat visible signs of aging.

The first thing that caught my eye about this product was the bright blue color.  I don't normally say this about a scrub, but it is quite beautiful.  The color is just so rich and almost neon.  It also smells amazing!  I can't put my finger on exactly what it smells like, but it is very familiar to me.  It is a very fresh and clean fragrant smell like a spa.

The consistency of the scrub is a gel-like/gritty texture.  The scrub doesn't dissolve like other scrubs I have used, so you don't have to use a whole lot but do have to be careful not to over scrub.  Because of this it can also leave a bit of a mess in the shower afterwards.

With just the first use of Perlier Volcanic Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub I could see a significant difference in my skin.  It left my arms and legs extremely smooth and soft to the touch.  I have very mild keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms, and this has dramatically improved it.  With extended use of this scrub, it is almost non existent.

This product retails for $25, but you can get $5 off your Perlier purchase with coupon code  iFabbo5 on HSN.com.

Scenes from the West Coast

I am really late posting these pictures.  Back in July (way back in July) I visited the West Coast for work.  I traveled to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.  I only spent a day or two in each city but was able to do a little sight seeing.

San Francisco

I had never been to San Francisco, so I was especially excited to go there.  I stayed in Union Square, right across from the gigantic Macy's Union Square.  (it's pretty incredible)  While there I took a double decker bus tour of the city.  As I had very limited time in San Francisco, it was a great way to see many of the sights the city has to offer.

Los Angeles

I had been to LA just once before.  It was about 15 years ago with my family so this was a completely new experience for me.  I decided to stay in Hollywood because it was close to where I needed to go for work and I thought I could do some touristy things in the small time off I had.

The day I got there my flight came in really early and I had hours to kill before I could check in.  I decided to drop my bags off at the hotel and tour Hollywood.  There are lots of cheesy museums on Hollywood Blvd, so I got a 3 museum pass for The Guinness Book of World Record Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and the Hollywood Wax Museum.  After touring the three, I still had time so I decided to do a bus tour that visited the Hollywood Hills, Mulholland Drive, Beverly Hills and other points of interest.

Las Vegas

I didn't spend as much time in Las Vegas.  I only passed through spending around 15 hours there; just enough time to do what I needed to do for work, get some sleep and head home. Since I had been traveling none stop for several days all I wanted to do was stay in my room, and with good reason.  It was a pretty sweet room.
