2012 Favorites (and Give Away!)

Around mid 2011 I was stuck in a product rut.  I had been using BareMinerals (and nothing else) for over 5 years and was starting to get really bored with it. Other than lip glosses, everything I used was very routine.  I decided to change up everything and experiment with more products.

At the end of 2011 and all throughout last year I tried a lot of new products, many of which I really loved and have started to use regularly.  Not only am I excited to share my favorite products of 2012, but I am even more excited to be giving away some of my favorites to one lucky reader.  (keep reading for details)

2012 Favorites

1. NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base - I have tried so may eyeshadow bases and nothing has prevented my eyeshadow from sliding off my lids within an hour.  My shadow lasts 8 hours+ with this base.  It works very well at mattifying my oily lids.  It is hands down my favorite eyeshadow primer.

2. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - I use this to spray my face before applying my make-up to create a base, then once again once my make-up is on to set everything.  A quick spray throughout the day also helps my make-up stay on longer.

3. Boscia B.B. Cream - I was obsessed with BB Creams last year but had a problem finding one that wasn't too light for me.  I really like this one from Boscia.  I will use it on days when I don't want a full face of make-up but just want a little coverage to hide my hyperpigmentation.

4. LUSH Cosmetics Lemony Flutter - This is technically a cuticle cream, but I use it on my feet.  While it works great as a cuticle cream, it doubles as a really softening balm for heels.

5. BeautyBlender - I haven't stopped raving about this since I got one in my October Birchbox.  It blends my foundation into my skin with a natural finish.  The shape allows me one tool to apply my makeup to my entire face and get into the corners of my nose and under my eyes.

6. Maybelline New York Baby Lips - I think I have about 20 of these now.  They are hydrating, and provide just a hint of color.

7. Miss Jessie's Creme de la Curl Cleansing Creme & 8. Miss Jessie's Creme de la Creme Conditioner - I dont have curly hair, but bought this because I couldn't stop smelling it.  Using this make my hair so much smoother and less frizzy.

9. Batiste Dry Shampoo, Proud & True Brit - I have been using Batiste for year.  It's inexpensive and works.  My only issue with Batiste was the smell, until I used the Proud & True Brit.  It doesn't have  harsh perfume smell making it perfect.

10. Essie Nail Color, Fiji - I wore this color all summer long.  It is a gorgeous milky pink and just simple and versatile.

11. Benefit They're Real Mascara - My lashes have never looked as long and full. I also love that it comes in the mini because I don't wear mascara too often and end up throwing away most of the tube before I ever get to use it all.

12. Tangle Tamer Max - I loved the Tangle Teezer when I bought it last Spring.  It is a great tool for detangling wet hair.  After using it for a few months, I saw the Tangle Tamer Max at Sally one day and snatched it up.  It is just like the Tangle Teezer, but with a handle.

13. Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo - These have definitely become my holy grail eyeshadows.  I was afraid of creams at first, but they are so easy to apply and these last all day.

14. Clarisonic Mia - My Mia has really improved the condition of my skin.  I no longer get dry flaky spots and my skin just feels so much cleaner and smoother.

15.Dry'n Shape, Sigma - I try to wash my make-up brushes weekly.  After washing, I put them in the Dry'n Shape and they dry within hours (even my large powder brushes) and keep their shape.

16. Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes - I just really love cucumber in general.  The taste, the smell . . . it was only natural to buy a cucumber based product.  These smell really fresh and sooth the skin.  And they work.

17. Laura Mercier Creme De Pistache Hand Creme - BEST SMELL EVER!

18. JASON Natural Cosmetics Revitalizing Moisturizing Creme w/ Vitamin E - Because I get occasion breakouts I like that this has Vitamin E to heal my skin and reverse hyperpigmentation.

19. Boots Expert Scar Care Serum - I had spent a small fortune on serums to even my skin tone and combat hyperpigmentation.  This is less than $8 and since it is technically for scars, I figured it would work for my discoloration.  It does that and makes my skin really soft without that sticky feeling that some serums leave.

20. e.l.f Professional Studio Cream Eyeliner - I have always had a love/hate relationship with eyeliner.  I like the look, but would end up with raccoon eyes.  I tried a lot of different brands, both drug store and high end and like this the best (and doesn't end up under my eyes!)

21. Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops - I change out my nail polish regularly and don't always have the time to sit and wait for my polish to dry.  These drops smell like lavender and my polish drys almost immediately.

22. Benefits Cosmetics CORALista Blush - I love that this has a hint of shimmer and build-able color, so I only need to use this and not a separate blush and illuminator.  It gives a nice pretty glow or color.

I love these products so much that I have selected some of them to give to one of you!

    1. I have them everywhere. I probably exaggerated a little on the 20 (I used poetic license) but haven't stopped buying them since I got my first.

I got my Mia when I had a 20% off coupon from Sephora and now I want to upgrade to the Clarisonic Plus!
