Holiday Gift Guide: For the Techies

Every family has one; that gadget guru that you call upon with any technology question.  In my family, it is my sister, so naturally I asked her what "techie" gifts would be on her list. She sent me a list of over 20 items, but I had to edit it down slightly.  Here are some of her picks (and mine) for those technology enthusiasts on your list.
1.  Coach Legacy Mirror Metallic Phone Wristlet ($58.00) - Available in gunmetal and rose gold, this wristlet has room for all your essentials.  It has three card slots and a roomy pocket that fits most smartphones.  These wallets are fantastic for the girl on the go!

4.  Lomography Smartphone Film Scanner ($59.00) - Have you ever found old 35 mm film negatives at home and wanted to convert them to digital?  With this film scanner, you can give your favorite gadget enthusiast the ability to scan and share pics instantly with their smartphone.

The Chrombook comes with 12 free passes (estimated $150 value) that can be used within 2 years on domestic US flights.

Alexander Wang Beats Studio Headphones ($449.95) - Monster Beats has also teamed up with a top designer just in time for the holidays.  These limited edition studio headphones feature pale gold accents on a matte black surface.  I am not going to lie; I kind of want them just for the signature embossed glossy stingray case with zipper and clip!

7. Tile ($19.99) - If you have a friend or family member that has ever lost their keys, cellphone, or even purse, you need to get them tile.  It is a tiny plastic disk that you attach, drop or stick to any item that you may lose, and using blue tooth technology, along with the tile app, you can track the item's location when you lose it.  Ingenious, right?!?!?!?!

8.  ETip Glove, The North Face ($45.000) -Unless you are among the small percent of the population that doesn't have a touchscreen, every time you want to make a call in the winter while wearing gloves, you have to pull your gloves off just to dial.  ETip Gloves eliminates that.  They are designed with silicon grippers so you won't drop your phone on the ice, and a special "etip" material that allows you to use those touchscreen keys while keeping your hands toasty.

Its universal connector firmly docks your iPad, iPod, or iPhone devices. The connector also lets you rotate your iPod or iPhone, so you can view the screen in portrait or landscape orientation for the best video display.

13. Typo iPhone Keyboard Case ($99.00) - While this is just available for presale, I think it is going to be worth the wait for anyone that has not yet made the jump to a touchscreen phone, or someone that misses that physical keyboard.  I love that the keyboard resembles that of a Blackberry, so it would be perfect for anyone still holding onto a blackberry because "they can't imagine life without that keyboard."

Styling Tieks

I have wanted a pair of Tieks for the better part of a year now.  I haven't made the purchase just yet but they are definitely on the top of my Christmas wish list this year.

While these blue sole flats are designed to be flexible and comfortable, they are also super stylish.  Here are some of my picks for styling this versatile footwear.

Tieks Black and Gold
When wearing all black, I love to add a pair of fun or bright color shoes.  Gold Tieks are a great way to tie in gold jewelry and the gold hardware on a handbag.

Tieks Jeans

I like to think of red shoes as a neutral.  I know it is is not, BUT it is my favorite color to wear with an otherwise neutral look.  I also really love red and blue together, so the navy bag works to bring in another color, yet still keeping it classic.

Tieks White Dress
Even though winter is just weeks away, I am already dreaming of spring.  Nothing screams spring more to me then crisp white with a bright hello hue.  A pop of eggplant, then gives it a sophisticated and a regal flair.

Tieks Leggings
One way to stay causal and chic is pairing leggings with a chunky knit, animal print flats and classic accessories.  I could run errands all day in this look!

Tieks Cropped Jeans
I really like the baseball meets girly look.  Accessorizing up some boyfriend jeans and baseball tee makes it casual and comfortable, yet girly and pulled together.

Guest Post from Lauren's Way

Just because the cold weather is upon us, it doesn't mean you have to lose your tan.  Today I am very excited to have a special guest post from Laurens Way, a UK beauty brand founded by Lauren Goodger, an English television personality, glamour model, beautician and singer.

Based in the UK, features fake tanning products, hair products, and false eyelashes and ships worldwide.

Getting ready to glow this winter

It’s fair to say that summer is well and truly behind us, we need to shake up our skincare routines to adjust for the autumnal months. Making small and subtle changes now will help you look and feel your best in the colder seasons. Tanning is the perfect way to look glowing throughout winter.

As the gale force winds hit us and cold bites we tend to use the central heating and our skin becomes exposed to dryness and chapping. This can be easily corrected by using a good quality body and face scrub exfoliator followed by a moisturiser to fuse goodness back into your skin.

Try to exfoliate once or twice a week depending on your natural skin type; this is important for skin that has been damaged over the summer months by the sun. Buy a scrub that contains sugar this will bring out a natural glow. If you moisturise in the morning and evening especially after you’ve exfoliated and use a facial mask one night a week for added softness – then your skin is well and truly prepared for the fake tan to be applied!

A fantastic tanning product on the market, that’s not only easy to apply but looks radiant and its streak free, Lauren’s Way Self Tan. The LW tanning products have received amazing reviews across all social media channels.

Tanning Mitt

If you’re trying out fake tan for the first time, you might be a little nervous about using it, but it couldn’t be simpler to get an even glow. Start by taking a long shower and shave so the tan had a smooth and even base to be applied to then use a mitt to apply the tan in circular motions.

Make sure you read the directions on the tan bottle and wash it off, but be aware to not stain your hands. The self-tan from Lauren’s way is one of our favourites for a lovely tone and perfect glow.
Check out the Lauren’s Way website to see the additional beauty products including clip in hair extensions, lashes and sleep in rollers to perfect the ultimate desired appearance.

Friday Finds

Notes from My Closet - I found Rachel's Blog through Instagram, which seems to be where I find 90% of new to me blogs lately.  I loved the minimalistic, simple design of her bedroom in her room tour and have been reading through her blog ever since!

The Kinch Life Blog - (Another blog I found on instagram) Everything about Aubrey's blog is absolutely stunning!  She is a graphic designer and has a ton of freebie wallpapers for your iPhone and desktop!

Is it weird that I have been stalking my own sister's pinterest?  Even at my age I still look to my older sister for style advice, and her pinterest is very pinspiring.  (corny pun?? - check out her pinterest for sources of the images above)

I am sure I have mentioned the Decorista's blog a bagillion times because it is one of my absolute favorites AND her pinterest is just as amazing!

I have been sucked into the vortex of instagram!  I have been absolutely obsessed and it is quickly becoming my source for EVERYTHING! (by the way - you can follow me here)

Yours_Truly_Sandy - Sandy's instagram has makeup, comics, and just everyday pictures of her life.  She has some great product recommendations.  She also works a Sephora and was kind enough to recently offer some of her followers her friends and family coupon.  (I was lucky enough to score one - Thank you Sandy!)

aslancreampuff - I am not a crazy cat lady, I promise, but I die of cuteness overload every time I look at him.

If this is really the guy whose driveway Youtube "personality" Joey Graceffa blocked and his story is legit, kudos to him for sticking up for himself and being absolutely hilarious!  What is so complicated about not blocking someone's driveway?!?  Its illegal . . . AND RUDE!  You are my hero Nate Clark!
