Dermalogica PreCleanse

Disclaimer:  These products were sent to me from iFabbo for purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I almost always precleanse my face before washing.  It helps to break up and remove any makeup, dirt, oil, and debris from the day that my cleanser alone can't do.  It also preps my skin so my cleanser can go in and do what it needs to do.

I have mentioned before how much I love cleaning oils for this exact purpose.  I have been using them for a while now and find them so easy to use and, along with my regular cleanser, really gives me a deep down clean.

I recently received two products from Dermalogica that each one alone acts as the first step of what Dermoalogica calls the "double cleanse regime."  The Dermalogica precleanse set contains both the precleanse and precleanse wipes.

The precleanse is described as a "deep-cleansing oil that melts away layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make-up, pollutants and products that build up on skin, allowing your cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results."

You apply it to dry skin, then wet your hands and start working in the oil, creating a milky emulsion that rinses makeup and debris and so forth from your skin.  Like most cleansing oils, I personally apply before going into the shower at night then while in the shower I use my wet hands to work into my face then rinse before washing with my regular cleanser.

I have tried a number of different oils in the past, both high end and drugstore.  This is probably one of the better ones I have used.  It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and rinses really well with no residue. I would definitely purchase when I am done with the trial size I received.

The precleanse wipes are just a travel friendly form of the precleanse in a convenient wipe form.  You follow a similar method, applying to a dry skin and then rinsing before washing with your regular cleanser.

I should first start by saying that I do not typically like cleansing wipes.  I usually keep a certain brand on standby for emergencies, but I don't really like using a wipe nor do I find them that effective in general.  With that said, these were no exception to that.  I followed the instructions and even tried to wet the wipe slightly to create that milky emulsion, and they just did nothing for me.  Like most wipes, they can be convenient while traveling or to throw in your gym bag, but I don't feel the results are anything compared to a cleansing oil.  While good in a pinch if I have no other options, I would not consider my skin "precleansed" using these.

The precleanse oil was a huge win for me.  I have been raving about the Julep Bare Skin oil for some time, and I almost want to say Dermalogica's oil is even better than Juleps.  The wipes on the other hand, are just not my thing.  Not because of the formula but just because I don't like cleansing wipes in general and these did nothing to change that. The oil is definitely something to check out!

Wednesday Wishlist

(clockwise from top left)

Mineral Powder Blush in Rose, Jouer Cosmetics - I just recently saw this blush being used in a video on Youtube and it looked so beautiful and subtle. I also really like Jouer Cosmetics.

Lucca Drive Candace, Kate Spade - I spotted this bag quite a few times online and never paid it much attention.  I was then in Nordstrom last week and saw it in person and fell in love with it in sprout green.

À la rose Eau de ParfumMaison Francis Kurkdjian - I have been dreaming of this scent since first smelling it back in February.  Its a bit pricey so it would definitely be a splurge if I were to ever purchase.

Privacy Clutch in Limited Edition Rose Gold, TRUFFLE - I love TRUFFLE pouches and clutches.  I have several of the transparent ones, but I think this would be great for throwing in my work bag to hold some essentials when running out to lunch or just on a night out.

Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Night Cap Overnight Perfector, Living Proof - I have heard some pretty great things about this overnight hair mask.

Resurfacing Mask, Tata Harper - I have seen and heard about this mask EVERYWHERE and so eager to give it a try.  I am kind of cheating here because I just ordered it this morning with the Sephora VIB ROUGE sale.

Esqido Mink Lashes

Disclaimer: Product received from brand for the purpose of review.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Lashes are not something I normally incorporate into my regular beauty routine. I've tried lashes in the past, but always felt they looked too artificial. When I was contacted my Esqido Mink Lashes I thought I would give them a try.
The nice folks at Esqido were kind enough to send me two styles of lashes; Little Black Lash  and Unforgettable.

Little Black Lash is the lightest of the Esqido collection. The strands are spaced out across the band for a natural look.  Individual lashes range from 6-10mm long.

Unforgettable lashes features a gradient of increasing length and thickness across the lash band, resulting in a subtle winged out effect. Individual lashes range from 6-10mm long.

Esqido mink lashes are handcrafted from the finest responsibly sourced mink fur. The fur is collected from the natural shedding/molting cycles of the mink animal, which are then sterilized to ensure that they are hypoallergenic and suitable for wear.

Unlike traditional synthetic lashes that only last about 4 uses, Esqido mink lashes can be worn up to 25 times.  Esqido lashes also hold a natural curl and have a soft cotton band making them lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Esqido Lashes come beautifully packaged in reusable white boxes with a magnetic close so you can easily store them between use.  They were pretty easy to apply (I used DUO Eyelash Adhesive) and were pretty comfortable throughout the day.  I had even forgotten that I was wearing them.

I have pretty decent lashes to begin with but these made my lashes so much fuller and longer.  They also looked really natural.  I have used one pair about 3 times and they still look almost brand new

Esquido lashes retail between $39.99 and $49.99.  While they are pricier than other brands, the fact that they can be worn about 25 times, makes the price worth it.

Esqido Mink Lashes comes in 9 different styles ranging in moderate to intense volume and can be purchased on their website.
